Iron Infusion Therapy
Provider-guided IV iron replacement using Venofer® or generic iron sucrose to help replenish low iron stores, support energy, and address iron deficiency.
Venofer® + Iron Sucrose
Advanced Iron Replacement Support
Venofer® is a brand-name form of iron sucrose injection. Generic iron sucrose is also available. Iron sucrose is administered intravenously and is commonly used when iron levels are low, oral iron is not tolerated, or faster iron replacement is clinically appropriate.
Iron Deficiency Support
Intravenous iron may help replenish iron stores when ferritin, iron saturation, or hemoglobin levels suggest deficiency.
Energy + Fatigue
Low iron can contribute to fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath, dizziness, brain fog, pale skin, cold extremities, hair loss, and reduced exercise tolerance.
Ferritin-Based Planning
Treatment frequency and total replacement dose are guided by ferritin levels, hemoglobin, symptoms, and provider assessment.
Oral Iron Alternative
IV iron may be considered when oral iron causes side effects, is not absorbed well, or has not improved iron stores.
Provider-Guided Care
Iron infusions require lab review, medical history screening, and individualized dosing to support safe replacement.
Ongoing Monitoring
Follow-up labs are typically used to evaluate response and determine whether additional maintenance is needed.
Iron Replacement Protocol
Severe Iron Depletion
Ferritin levels below 30 are commonly associated with significantly depleted iron stores and frequently require a full replacement course.
- Completed over 4 visits
- First infusion consists of 100mg for safety
- Next three infusions are 300mg each
Moderate Iron Deficiency
Ferritin levels between 30 and 60 may still contribute to fatigue, reduced exercise tolerance, brain fog, and other symptoms of low iron.
- Completed over 3 visits
- First infusion consists of 100mg for safety
- Next two infusions are 300mg each
Optimization
Clients with ferritin levels between 60 and 90 may still experience symptoms despite appearing within laboratory reference ranges.
- Compled over 2 visits
- First infusion consists of 100mg for safety
- Next infusion consists of 300mg dose.

Safety + Monitoring
Labs Are Required Before Treatment
Before iron infusion therapy, clients typically need recent labs such as CBC, ferritin, iron, TIBC, and transferrin saturation. Follow-up labs are often repeated after the treatment series to confirm response and help avoid unnecessary iron overload.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does an infusion take?
Although manufacturer recommendations mention 100mg over 10-15 minute IV push being safe, at HYDR8 we take extra precaution and infuse it over 30 minutes. 300mg dose will infuse over 90 minutes.
How many infusions will I need?
The number of visits depends on your ferritin level and total replacement goal. Ferritin below 30 may require 1,000mg total replacement, ferritin 30–60 may require 700mg total replacement, and ferritin 60–90 may require 300mg total replacement, depending on provider assessment.
How often are infusions given?
Frequency varies by protocol and tolerance. HYDR8 begins with a 100mg safety infusion, then schedules additional replacement infusions based on ferritin level, symptoms, provider guidance, and availability.
What is the maximum dose per infusion?
HYDR8 follows a conservative safety-first approach and does not exceed 300mg of iron sucrose per infusion per manufacturer recommendations.
Can I get other vitamins at the same time?
Iron is always infused by itself in normal saline. Nothing else may be mixed in it. If additional vitamins are requested, they will be infused separately.
