Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about IV therapy, mobile appointments, eligibility, preparation, payments, and what to expect from your HYDR8 experience.

IV hydration therapy delivers fluids and selected ingredients directly into a vein. Depending on the treatment, this may include electrolytes, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, or provider-directed medications.

It may also be described as IV nutrient therapy, vitamin infusion therapy, or an IV drip.

Oral supplements must pass through the digestive system before nutrients can be absorbed. IV administration bypasses the digestive tract and places fluids or ingredients directly into the bloodstream.

This does not mean IV therapy is automatically better for every person or every goal. Route, dose, medical need, safety, and available evidence should all be considered.

Many standard hydration appointments take approximately 30 to 60 minutes, although timing varies by treatment, vein access, infusion rate, dose, and how you feel during the appointment.

Specialty treatments such as NAD+, iron, PlaqueX, high-dose vitamin C, or ozone therapy may require additional time and preparation.

Some treatments may be adjusted with approved additives when clinically appropriate. Customization depends on your health history, medications, allergies, goals, selected base infusion, and provider approval.

Not every ingredient can be safely combined or administered to every patient.

HYDR8 offers both in-office and mobile services. In-office appointments are available at our Turlock wellness center. Eligible mobile services may be provided at your home, office, hotel, vacation rental, or private event.

Mobile availability and travel fees vary by service area, distance, and schedule.

Most standard IV hydration appointments do not require fasting. In many cases, eating a light meal and drinking water beforehand can help you feel more comfortable.

Certain laboratory tests or specialty treatments may have different preparation instructions. Follow the specific guidance provided by our team.

Unless instructed otherwise, arrive reasonably hydrated, eat a light meal, wear clothing that allows access to your arm, and bring an up-to-date list of medications, allergies, supplements, and relevant medical conditions.

No. IV therapy is not appropriate for everyone. Eligibility depends on your medical history, symptoms, medications, allergies, vital signs, hydration status, and the ingredients being considered.

People with heart failure, kidney disease, dialysis, fluid restrictions, certain electrolyte disorders, active medical emergencies, or other complex conditions may need modified treatment, medical clearance, or a higher level of care.

A licensed clinician reviews your intake information, relevant symptoms, medical history, medications, allergies, and treatment goals. Vital signs or additional screening may be required.

Treatment may be adjusted, delayed, declined, or referred to another provider when that is the safer option.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding require individualized review. Some fluids or ingredients may be considered, while others are avoided or require approval from your obstetric clinician.

Contact HYDR8 before scheduling so our team can discuss appropriate options and any required clearance.

Possible effects include bruising, discomfort, bleeding, irritation, infiltration, infection, dizziness, nausea, headache, flushing, medication effects, allergic reaction, or fluid and electrolyte complications.

Risks vary by treatment. Your nurse monitors you during administration and will stop or modify treatment when clinically indicated.

Start with your primary concern and review the available services, then allow our clinical team to help determine whether a specific treatment is appropriate. Symptoms such as fatigue, headache, nausea, or dehydration can have many causes.

The safest recommendation may be an IV, a modified plan, laboratory testing, referral, or no treatment at all.
